Dr David Shashar
On Wednesday 27 February 2008
8pm
Beth Weizmann
Hawthorn Road, Caulfield, Melbourne, Australia
Dr Shashar was a training obstetrician. Today his right arm is twisted and mostly useless after it was nearly torn off by a missile that hit him and his unit in Lebanon, August 2006. The blast killed nine of David's comrades and left him near dead, his forearm was dangling by shreds of tissue and his arm was punctured by shrapnel. Rushed back to the Israeli border on a stretcher he awoke 10 hours later at the very same hospital where he delivered babies.
Come and hear his courageous story of survival and of his determination to return to a productive medical career
